2021 Recall Election Aug. 16
RCSCW schedules recall election Aug. 16
Petition targets Director Lou Mancuso; early voting starts Aug. 5
The Recreation Centers of Sun City West has scheduled a Recall Election for Monday, Aug. 16, following the Association’s receipt of a Petition signed by at least 1,000 Owner Members, as required by Arizona law and our Bylaws. The petition calls for the recall of Director Lou Mancuso, who joined the Board on March 29.
Election Day is slated for Monday, Aug. 16, in the Data Resource Center of the R.H. Johnson Library. The polls will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. that day. Early Online Voting will be available from 8 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, through noon Thursday, Aug. 12. Those who are not able to vote in the Data Resource Center or online may call 623-544-6115 by noon, Tuesday, Aug. 10, to arrange for Absentee Voting.
Only Owner Members in good standing may vote in RCSCW elections. To vote online, members must have an email on file with the Rec Centers by noon, Tuesday, Aug. 10. Spouses may not share an email address; each owner must have their own email address on file to vote online, or they may vote in person on Election Day.
Members who voted in the last election or use the online portal, already have an email on file. Those who do not know if they have an email address on file or who have changed their email should send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org by noon Aug. 10, to have their email address updated; include your name, rec card number, and email address.
For online voting, ballots will be sent beginning 8 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, to those Owner Members in good standing who have an email address on file. Online ballots must be cast by noon Thursday, Aug. 12. Members owning more than one property will have their ballots handled accordingly, so they will only have to vote once but will have their votes count for each property they own.
For Absentee Ballots, if you cannot vote in person or online, call Governing Board Office Manager Karen Roepken at 623-544-6115 no later than noon Tuesday, Aug. 10.
Members voting in person should come to the Data Resource Center (north side of the Library) between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16. Bring your rec card. The main Library will be closed as it is a Monday. Members owning more than one property who vote in person will cast one ballot for each property they own.
