Sun City West resident Kenneth Olson has been hired as the Interim General Manager for the Recreation Centers of Sun City West.
Olson, who holds a mechanical engineering degree and has worked for years in real estate and HOA/property management, will join the Association on Wednesday, April 24, announced Board President Lisa Vines.
“We are excited to welcome Ken to our staff and look forward to his contributions,” said Vines. “With his experience, he will acclimate quickly to help us bridge the gap until a full-time general manager is hired.
“We anticipate hiring a General Manager within a six-month period. Ken will be an integral part of the transition as we onboard the new General Manager.”
Olson is an accomplished executive leader, engineer, and environmentalist. He has a passion for resource management, specifically water and energy, which has formed the foundation for his cost-effective conservation initiatives in the HOA industry.
Olson is a life-long learner who spends his free time traveling, painting and container gardening in his backyard conservatory.
The Governing Board has a search committee in place to find a full-time general manager. Olson will serve until that time.
Welcome Mr Olson, I appreciate you stepping up to help the association.
To the board: I hope you hire some one who can make Sun City West a desirable place to live. 10 years ago we were ranked the #1 retirement community in Arizona. Today we don’t even make the top ten list. Bring solid financial stability is good but at what cost? You move forward in life or you move backward. You can’t stay the same.
Well said Mr. Linder.
Welcome, Mr. Olsen, have you served on any of the past Governing Board committees? Also, are you a TORCH graduate? Thank you for stepping up and filling the interim position. I certainly look forward to working with you in the near future.
A bit more info would be good.

Passion for conservation but no mention of HOA involvement or the initiatives he was involved in.
Would he be interested in the actual job instead of the fill in
A bio or some actual background is needed.
A bit more background and documentation would be good.

.
Thank you Mr Ken Olsen for stepping up to the plate. I believe you’ll be a good asset as general manager.
Is Mr Olson a volunteer in this temporary position? If compensated will he be paid as well as our former General Manager?
We need to hire experienced and qualified employees and provide appropriate compensation, however annual increases should be earned, not automatic.
Many residents have fixed incomes and the only increases are their annual dues.
