The R.H. Johnson Library will be opening for a Grab and Go checkout service beginning Tuesday, June 2. The current curbside pickup service will end Saturday, May 30.
The library will be limiting activities in the library to finding materials and checking them out. We want you to come in, find your books, DVDs, and puzzles, check them out and take them back home to enjoy. That’s what we will call ‘Grab and Go.’
The library will be encouraging visits of no more than 30 minutes, with one person per household coming in if possible. Residents are asked to observe six-foot physical distancing from staff and one another. Patrons and staff are encouraged to wear masks as well, to protect the staff and one another.
Patrons will be able to browse the collections to make their selections. Items will be checked out by staff and volunteers, who will scan items through a plexiglass guard. There will be specific carts to place items that were picked up but not ultimately checked out. We ask patrons to not return items to the shelves but to the marked carts.
No other services will be available initially. Study rooms and meeting rooms will remain closed to the public. Library materials should be returned to the outside drive-through book drop rather than inside the building.
The Data Resource Center will continue to be available by appointments only.
The library’s hours will be Tuesday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
