Drive-in movies are no longer a thing of the past! The Rec Centers will bring back the lost days of catching cool flicks in the comfort of your car Thursday, Oct. 15 and Oct. 29 at the R.H. Johnson Recreation Center’s north parking lot, next to Meeker Mountain.
This is a free event! A limited number of tickets will be made available starting Tuesday, Oct. 6 at the R.H. Johnson Box Office. You must be a SCW resident and show your rec card at the box office in order to receive a ticket. One ticket/vehicle per rec card.

Additional Information

  • Movies will start at dusk (approximately at 7 p.m.)
  • You must have a vehicle with an FM radio so you can tune into 90.1 FM for the movies.
  • Pre-packaged concessions will be sold before the start of each film.
  • No alcohol is allowed.
  • Mask must be worn when exiting your vehicle during the event.

A novelist, Jack Torrance takes a job interview as winter caretaker of the isolated, old, huge and beautiful Overlook Hotel. Jack brings his wife, Wendy, and his son Danny. It happens that Danny has a mysterious power known as “The Shining”. Danny meets Hallorann, the hotel cook, on their first day arriving at the Overlook, who warns him about the hotel and the sinister Room 237. As the days go by, Danny has visions, meanwhile Jack starts driving into insanity, turning more and more aggressive, at the point that Danny and Wendy get convinced that Jack might try to do something bad.
