Good Afternoon, My question is “why is the pool room closed for a month and a half?” I understand the bowling apparatus may need updates that take longer than 2 weeks. But none of the places in the bowling area are that close to the pool room. All of the machinery is behind the lanes. (I have been through Torch, so I know). The pool players are a bunch of really nice people, and we could promise to act like responsible adults so as not to get near the bowling project. Where else are we to go. Yes, Sun City can be an option, but 6 weeks is pushing one’s luck. Please consider keeping our pool room open after that section is cleansed.

Hi Jan.
While the pool room may be separate and away from where the main work for this closure will take place, it is still included in our Sports Pavilion closure as a safety precaution due to the amount of activity that will occur throughout the facility, particularly on the concourse, during the closure time.
The replacement equipment actually does not include the pinsetters, but rather all the front-of-the-house equipment – the lanes, approaches and ball returns. Because of the size of the parts and equipment used in this project, items will be delivered and moved through the same doors members use to enter/exit the building and it will be stored along the main concourse. This will block access to the Billiards Room. Old equipment and lane material will also be stored on the concourse during certain periods, creating a hazard.
The pinsetters (back of the house) will not be replaced, but will go through maintenance during this time period.
While this closure may be inconvenient, it is necessary so our staff and vendor can do the proper work and keep the Sports Pavilion in great condition for our members. Thank you for your understanding and your participation in TORCH.
