The Friends of the Library continue their lecture series in February with nationally recognized Abraham Lincoln presenter and historian John Voehl at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, in the Stardust Theatre, 14401 R.H. Johnson Blvd.
Voehl will present “The Emancipation Proclamation.” Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. This is a free event, but tickets are required and can be picked up from the checkout desk at the R.H. Johnson Library.
This presentation will have Voehl speaking as President Lincoln of Lincoln’s promise, purpose, and how the bloodiest day in US History allowed its public release; how he prepared the country, the New Years Day 1863 signature, and its reception in Boston.
