Friends of the R.H. Johnson Library Lecture

March 30 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Are you planning a long trip this summer?

Come to the Library’s lecture on preparing your house for long vacations.

Date: Thursday March 30th
Time: 2:00pm
Location: R.H. Johnson Social Hall
This is a free event, open to all; no tickets required.

First, we will hear from James Consolloy, a retired botanist and member of the gardening club. During James’s presentation he will go over what you can do to prepare your home and garden landscape for the Arizona summer. He will focus on landscape plants, irrigation and a number of miscellaneous reminders of items around your house to care for before your big trip such as hoses, shade cloth, barbeques, and various ways to control pests.

Our second speaker is from the Sun City West Posse. The Posse will describe what vacation watch is and what the Posse does. The importance of putting your home on vacation watch. Hand out a ‘Going on Vacation Checklist’. Explain how to put your house on vacation watch. They will also talk about Neighborhood Watch as this ties into Vacation Watch and home safety when you are away.

We will have a question and answer for both presentations and handouts that you can take home to start your own checklist for preparing for your vacation.
