Honoring Anna is a novel based on the true and heartwarming story of 3 Norwegian immigrants circa 1900, following them from Norway to New York to the Northern Plains as they find love, lose it, and find it again in this book about unyielding faith, love, and honor.

Doug has just completed the sequel to Honoring Anna, the Winds of Time which follows her life as a homesteader through the Great Depression, The Dirty Thirties, the loss of several children, and an injury to her husband which forces her to run the ranch and take care of three small children, along with the cattle and horse herd for over a year by herself.

Douglas Hoff

After college Douglas Hoff and his wife Molly purchased the family farm. He and Marlene (Molly) were married in 1968 while attending SDSMT. When his parents considered the sale of the family ranch, Doug and Molly decided to give ranching a try and later bought it, eventually tripling its size. While on the ranch, they had two children, Brian and Andrea, and started a herd of Angus cattle that became world renowned.

He wrote Honoring Anna to honor his wife and her family and as a tribute to our immigrants. Douglas brought his expertise and his in-depth agricultural experience to this book, helping to produce a unique perspective of the demands of agriculture and living on the prairie
