The Recreation Centers of Sun City West will introduce tiered guest fees, effective July 1.
Until now, RCSCW had only one guest fee, with the cost being $3.50 per person, per visit for every guest a member checked in on a given day.
On July 1, the fees will be: $3.50 for anyone 17 and younger, and $5 for anyone 18 and older.
Member Cardholders must be in good standing to enter or use a facility or bring a guest.
Additional details:
- All guests wishing to use RCSCW facilities must be present with the owner of the member card being used to sign in.
- The guests will be given a receipt. Their names are required to be written on the back of the receipt if the guests are going to any other facilities that day. The receipt is good for the remainder of the date purchased, with the exception of Golf and Bowling, which have additional fees.
- Guests under 16 years old must always be accompanied by a responsible adult. Members do not need to stay with guests who are older than 16.
- When visiting additional locations after the initial sign-in, guests must present the receipt bearing the guests’ names.
Members may put money onto their accounts in advance to cover guest fees by calling Member Services at 623-544-6100, visiting Member Services, or visiting any of the seven golf course pro shops. Alternatively, members may use a credit card to pay for guests for that day only, at any of the four recreation centers.
I may have my niece stay in my house to dogsit and watch my house. I can be there the first day to sign her in, but then I’ll be gone. The way this is set up, she won’t be able to use the pool or fitness center while she’s here then?
Good call. The rec center won’t get more money each day if you are gone. This rule needs to be reconsidered. In addition some residents have physical problems that add more burden to their life. Too bad none of us are interested enough to get elected to the board to change things, so we let the few that do make the calls. Shame on us.. FTFFH is the attitude that needs changing.
Why are the guest fees being increased for adults? Is SCW short on funds? Are visiting adults abusing the guest privileges? Please explain?
I think SCW is trying to operate too much like a business. This is a community where we live AND pay a huge price for it! The previous guest fee was tolerable but increasing the adult fee is ridiculous!
Just like trying to treat clubs as businesses where people try to profit is ridiculous! If I wanted to be in a club, I would do it purely for my own entertainment or recreation and not to sell things.
Probably a reflection of their poor funds management.
Curious, a guest is a guest! Why the difference?
Probably the same reason theaters charge $15 for adults & $10 for kids under 17 to get into a movie. It’s because they can. I wonder if guests over 55 will qualify for a senior discount?

This isn’t Disneyland or a resort by any means!
In a year when the facilities have been closed more than open, the annual fees went up and now the guest fees. The costs should have gone down with the facilities closed so much so why the need to raise everything. I am disappointed in the powers that be!
I would guess that it’s because of factors such as restricted swim times and locations for children.
The Guest fee increase is out of line. Raising these fees during this time immediately after we were unable to use many of the facilities due to the Pandemic is inappropriate and unreasonable. I am disappointed in this decision. What is the rationale for the increase?
The “powers that be” need some explanation!! Comments from the others are right on. !! Need to stop with raising prices for every little thing. Bringing a family to the pool or putt putt could be $40 or higher. Don’t we pay our annual dues for a few of these things. ?
The facilities available for guests to use is a bargain at $5.00. I think it would be a bargain at $10.00!
Well there you have it. Let’s get the fees doubled to $10 now. What a great idea.
