A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away… a Star Wars summer movie marathon was held for the biggest of Star Wars fans in Sun City West!
The Recreation Centers of Sun City West will be presenting a Star Wars movie marathon for the SCW community during the summer months of June and July. The 11-movie series will air twice this summer, with afternoon and evening showtimes available. The June marathon will have 1 p.m. showings while the July showtimes will be at 6 p.m. Doors will open one hour prior to each movie. All films will be screened at the Stardust Theatre, located at the Kuentz Recreation Center.
All movies will be shown in their chronological order of events so you can follow along with the entire story of the Star Wars franchise.
Each week of our Star Wars marathon, the Rec Centers will have a new Star Wars cut out available for residents to take photos with. At the end of July, each cut out will be raffled off to those that participated in this marathon. Along with the Star Wars cut outs, a complete Star Wars movie set will also be raffled off!
Tickets will be free and available on Star Wars day – May the 4th (as in May the 4th be with you!) – and open to Sun City West residents only. Tickets can be picked up at the R.H. Johnson Box Office. Box office is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets grant access to all showings in either the month of June or July.
If you feel sick, please stay home. Seating for each movie will be limited to 150 people

Star Wars Summer Movie Marathon
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away… a Star Wars summer movie marathon was held for the biggest of Star Wars fans in Sun City West! Being shown in the chronological order of events that happens in the Star Wars saga, all 11 films will be shown during the summer months of 2021 in the Stardust theater at the Kuentz Recreation Center Center.
Tickets for every movie are free and are available for SCW residents to pick up starting at 8 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, at the R.H. Johnson Box Office.
Thank you to our sponsor for this event, Statz Insurance Agency

Maybe I missed it, but I didn’t see where the movies would be shown (presumably at Stardust Theatre, since the map highlights the Kuentz Rec Center). Also, am I correct is assuming that the tickets distributed on May 4th will be for ALL movies in the series? Does each resident have to appear in person to get the tickets, or can I get tickets for myself and a friend (also a SCW resident, but definitely not a morning person)?
Hi Edmund. All films will be shown at the Stardust Theatre, located at the Kuentz Recreation Center. Each ticket will grant you access to all the movies in one of the marathons (either June or July). Each person interested in getting a ticket will have to pick it up in person at the box office as our Event staff verifies that they are a SCW resident.
Which venue will this take place?
Hi Fran. All films will be shown at the Stardust Theatre, located at the Kuentz Recreation Center.
Will you give out numbers at 6 am again? And can I pick up 2 tickets for my friend who can not stand in line?
As I read this article, are there any tickets remaining for the afternoon series? You started giving out tickets on may 4th and I’m just reading about it now, through your email, may 12th.
Hi Steven. Tickets for the showings during the month of June are nearly sold out. Plenty are still left for the month of July.
Oh how fabulous, this is going to be so much fun. Thanks so much for the creativity of putting this together.
Will the movies have the subtitles/captioning on?
we got the tickets for the afternoon showing in June but don’t love our seats so can we exchange them for July showings if there are better seats available for those?
Hi Nancy, please contact the box office at 623-544-6093 for information about ticket exchanges.
Hello, I am new for this event and loves to see the Star Wars things.
Should I go there without ticket?
Ticket is for movie correct? I dont need the movies and already saw whole things.
Let me know I would love to go there! Thanks
Hi JT. Tickets are required for entry into any of the movie screenings. Currently, tickets are all sold out but give our box office a call at 623-544-6093 to see if any ticket cancellations have popped up.
