The Member Services Department of the Recreation Centers of Sun City West is planning ahead for the influx of winter residents who may need to get their owner card pictures retaken, by scheduling special photo hours beginning Oct. 1.
Residents needing a new owner card picture may have their photo taken between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, from Oct. 1 through March 31, inside the Governing Board Conference Room, located next door to Member Services.
Residents whose pictures on their owner card are more than 5 years old (anyone with an old logo would be older than 5 years) or who have been told by a monitor or starter that their photo must be updated, are required to get a new photo. Failure to do so can result in member privileges being revoked until the photo is updated.
New owner card pictures will be issued at no cost to members who turn in their old cards. This policy helps our monitors and starters know that the person standing in front of them matches the person in the computer system, where member privileges are validated. This ensures only people who should be using the facilities are allowed to use them.
Beginning in October, residents can expect longer lines at Member Services as winter residents and tenants return. Avoid the long waits and congested office by stopping in next door to have your photo taken. You will be issued your updated card at the same site.

Our membership dues are scheduled in December, should we wait until then for the photo to be taken? Or is this totally separate from that?
Hi Jan. The updated photos are totally separate from membership dues. We recommend getting your photo done at your earliest convenience.
As a renter, how may my husband and I obtain a membership card, so that we may enjoy the facilities and activities offered here in Sun City West?

Hi Mike. Stop by the Member Services office at the R.H. Johnson Recreation Center(19803 N. R.H. Johnson Blvd.) and they will be happy to get you a new card. They are open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.
