Scheduled to Perform

Desert Dixie

Wednesday, June 11

Both Arizona natives (from the Southeast Valley), J.T. and Cody Lynn spent years in the Valley music scene playing popular nightclubs, city festivals, private parties, and charity events. The two entertainers crossed paths in 2009 and decided to combine their passion for music and their experience to create a band, Desert Dixie, that appeals to a broad range of ages and musical tastes. They draw inspiration from many styles and eras of country music, performing well-written originals, unique covers, plus a few surprises from other genres. J.T. and Cody Lynn have opened shows for nationally and internationally recognized artists including Lady A, Justin Moore, Patti LaBelle, Wayne Newton, and Jerrod Neimann.

Dan graduated from Indiana University with a degree in music performance and then spent 20 years as music director for Princess Cruise Lines. A native of St. Louis, Dan joined the Phoenix music scene in 2011.

Clark Chaffee, drums and vocals, is a versatile performer and music educator from Illinois who has been a driving force in the musical life of the Valley since 2013. He directs the Surprise Pops Band, the West Valley Wind Ensemble, and the Sun Cities Orchestra, and plays with the Sun City Stomperz, and the Scottsdale Symphony. Clark built the orchestra program at Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, IL, and he played timpani with the Elgin (IL) Symphony for 20 years. He currently mentors band and orchestra directors in the West Valley.

Richard Palalay, keyboards, is a well-known Phoenix area musician whose inventive compositions and creative arrangements have been heard on national and cable TV. Originally from Hawaii, he works with singers and instrumentalists throughout the Valley on everything from recording an album to developing a stage show. Richard has played venues from cruise ships to Vegas, and is considered one of the top pianists in Arizona.

Ellie Chaffee, vocals, is a retired teacher and librarian who loves singing in a variety of musical genres.
