R.H. Johnson Library Updates
Temporary Library hours: Tuesday through Saturday 9 a.m.- 2 p.m.
The R. H. Johnson Library is open for checkout of materials. We will be limiting activities in the library to finding materials and checking out materials. We want you to come in, find your books, DVDs, magazines, and puzzles, check them out and take them back home to enjoy. That’s what we will call ‘grab and go.’
The library is encouraging visits of no more than 30 minutes, with one person per household coming in if possible. No guests at this time. Residents are asked to observe six-foot physical distancing from staff and one another. Due to the sharp increase in COVID-19 cases throughout the state, the Recreation Centers of Sun City West will mandate masks be worn in shared spaces. Residents and employees inside the library must wear a mask until further notice.
Patrons will be able to browse the collections to make their selections. Items will be checked out by staff and volunteers, who will scan items through a plexiglass guard. There will be specific tables and carts to place items picked up but not selected to check out. We ask patrons to not return items to the shelves but to the marked areas.
No other services will be available initially, study rooms and meeting rooms will remain closed to the public. It is preferred for Library materials to be returned to the outside drive-through book drop rather than inside the building.
Returned items are put in quarantine for 3 days. There will not be any fines for any overdue items during the 3 days of quarantine.
The Data Resource Center will continue to be available by appointments or by walk-in.
