The much-anticipated reopening of the renovated Kuentz Recreation Center is slated for Monday, Dec. 7.

Members will be greeted by a 4,800 square-foot expansion and renovated spaces. This includes a new courtyard complete with fire table and hanging heaters; expanded fitness center with additional equipment; renovated indoor spa; new pool and patio deck; new dedicated Palo Verde Patchers Club Room; expanded and updated Weavers Club studio; and an expanded and restriped parking lot.

Due to requirements from the Arizona Department of Health Services designed to control the spread of COVID-19, the Rec Centers has had to reassign staff members at each facility for sanitizing fitness centers. This means facility hours will change as follows when Kuentz reopens:
• Palm Ridge and R.H. Johnson: remain open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Beardsley hours reduced to new hours of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Please note, Beardsley Pool will be closed Dec. 7-11 for installation of a new heater.)
• Kuentz will reopen from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The reduced hours at Beardsley and Kuentz allows the Rec Centers to adequately staff all four facilities for cleaning and disinfecting of all occupied areas on a daily basis as well as cover the fitness center position at each fitness room, as required by ADHS.

Due to the pandemic, a grand opening is not planned as we are hoping to keep crowds to a minimum. Additionally, guests are not allowed in any of the facilities at this time.
