How do I add funds to my account to cover daily guest fees as needed?
Hi Becky. You can add funds to your account by visiting our Membership office between 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday or by calling 623-544-6100.
May I just offer confusion over the decision of a 30-day closure of the Palm Ridge outdoor pool/recreation center during a season when it would be most utilized? I appreciate being vulnerable to a ‘contractor’s schedule’, but surely the asphalt is viable to last through the warmest months while members could enjoy the facility and the repairs be made towards the end of the year?
Thanks for all you do!
It’s nice to see we are making these improvements to keep our facilities in great shape.
Palm Ridge will be closed for a month due to parking lot repairs? Pickleball as well, I presume? The clubs and large meeting room? Why the heck can they not do the parking lot in sections to allow use of the facility we have been without for most of the last year? Not everyone is a snowbird.
Regarding the Palm Ridge Closure. Would it be possible to close half of Palm Ridge and complete that portion of the parking and then close the other half and complete the remaining portion of the parking lot?
Why wasn’t this work done when the facilities were closed we lost enough time with covid restrictions but you raised our rec fees when we couldn’t use our facilities come on who makes these decisions
Thank you for constantly trying to keep the place up-to-date,clean and neat for everybody and replacing everything that needs to be replaced or remodeled.
I love the care and pride that our community shows about the rec centers. I would like to suggest that this same pride be put on display on the byways that connect our rec centers, not just at the entrances and along RH Johnson and Meeker, but along stardust, 135th Ave, Camino Del Sol and the other heavily traveled areas. This could be more low water plantings and / or pavers, signage, fountains and other visually beautiful enhancements.
I don’t understand why the parking lot resurfacing and sidewalk repairs weren’t done in the months when Palm Ridge was closed. That goes for renovations at Kuentz as well. Why don’t they fix these things in the summer when snowbirds are gone.
It is the responsibility of the board to keep facilities maintained. Why isn’t something being done to repair the tennis courts at Kuntz.
Very poor planning with Palm Ridge parking lot and center being closed for a month! We have been on a lock down enough! Why was not this project completed then? Why not do it now in sections so we can access facility! Who makes those poor decisions?
Members, please voice your so the management knows how upset we are and changes the plan!
I am at a loss to understand why people keep writing in and blaming the Board for the COVID restrictions. It is not their fault! They are doing what the CDC, AZ and Maricopa recommends to keep us safe. When the restrictions have been lifted, they quickly make the change in SCW, such as now. Please, quit beating up on them. They are doing exactly what they are supposed to do, keep us and our community safe.
The issue of the scheduling of maintenance closures is tough. The Board would have preferred to have this work done while the buildings were closed. It would be much easier for everyone concerned. However, the Contractors are in control when it comes to timing. The Contractors have had the same issues from COVID restriction and shortage of available people because they contracted COVID. So here we are with all of these maintenance issues that need to be completed when they have the time in their schedule. So again, please stop beating up on the Board for something they have little control over.
Lastly, I keep seeing people complaining about the loss of use of the facilities and they should get a refund for their dues. Despite COVID, all of the buildings are still here and need to be maintained and upgraded. The bulk of the employees are still here with the need for payroll and benefits. The utilities still go on every month. There are still unexpected repairs that come up regularly. All of this costs money. That is where your Rec Ctr Dues go to. We have one of the top retirement communities in the country. Our dues are one of the lowest. Check around and see for yourself. This is going to be our home long past COVID going away. I for one want to make sure it stays ranked as one of the top facilities in the country.
We are finally coming through this pandemic and it has been tough on all of us. But it’s time to start being very thankful we DID make it through it. Some did not. So let’s have less complaining and look to a brighter future that is just around the corner.
Thank you Michael Lindner for a very well stated comment. I for one appreciate all that goes into maintaining our community, thank you to all who are a part of the daily running of this great place to call home.
Why wasn’t this work done during the covid shutdown? Then the year round residents would be able to continue using the various facilities.
