The Recreation Centers of Sun City West is announcing its holiday closure schedule for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s. Please keep this list handy throughout the holidays:
Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 24:
- Closed all day: Administrative Offices, Member Services, Library, Sports Pavilion, Lizard Acres Pub and Golf Operations Office
- Closed at noon: All Recreation Centers
- Open golf courses: Trail Ridge, Desert Trails, Deer Valley and Pebblebrook
- Closed golf courses: Stardust, Grandview and Echo Mesa
Friday, Nov. 25:
- Closed all day: Administrative Offices, Member Services, Library, and Golf Operations Office
- Open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.: Sports Pavilion
- Open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.: Lizard Acres Pub
- Open regular hours: All Recreation Centers
- All Sun City West golf courses are open
Saturday, Nov. 26:
- Open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Library
- Open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.: Sports Pavilion
- Open 3 to 10 p.m.: Lizard Acres Pub

Members are encouraged to put member credit on their cards before the holidays. There is no expiration on these funds. You can do this in these ways:
- Call or visit Member Services, 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. weekdays; 623-544-6100
- Visit the express payment window outside Member Services, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays
- Visit any open golf pro shop
- Visit the R.H. Johnson Snack Bar, located in the lobby of the R.H. Johnson Pool
- Pay with a credit card ONLY for 1-day use at any of the monitor stations at the four recreation centers
What a mess
This says Lizard Acres closes at 10pm tonight (12/31), but I know for a fact it’s open until Midnight.
