The Recreation Centers of Sun City West Governing Board has developed six goals for the new fiscal year.
The Board met July 2 in an all-day session, open to the community, and after discussing several issues that the Board will be dealing with in the 2019-20 fiscal year, came away with the following goals:
1. Reestablish the Board Development Committee as a special committee.
2. Continue the Bylaws Review.
3. Complete and review a Community Master Plan.
4. Update the Reserve Study and determine the acceptable range of risk.
5. Continue to improve Board visibility in the community.
6. Strengthen the Rec Centers’ relationship with PORA.
The Board will slow down in the summer as meetings are on hiatus now, but things will pick up starting in September as Committees begin forming and meeting

Thank you Mr. Riley for keeping the problem I reported on your desk and then calling me back. I do hope it will be taken care off soon.
As a member of the committee that did an overall revision of the by laws some years ago and having spent almost 2 years of my life doing it, I am interested to know who is conducting the review and how they are doing it.
Thanks for your interest Mr. Healey. Director Bryan Walus is leading this effort. Details are still being determined, but you can contact Mr. Walus at bryan.walus@suncitywest.com
hello, I really think that you need to add an explanation of these goals that the Board are stipulating. Remember you are dealing with an older community. Some of them cannot
get to a board meeting and others do not have computers. The Independent Newspaper, which they say is delivered to each household in SCW, would be the way to reach the really elderly. Thank you.
Thank you Beverly. I am writing a commentary for the Independent about the goals. Good thought!
Don’t know if this is the right forum but I would like someone to review the regulations that outlaw storage sheds on our proprieties. A lot of us don’t have room in our garage to store gardening tools such as rakes & wheelbarrows as well as our bikes and things we don’t use year round like lawn cushions etc. Lowes and Home Depot as well as others offer very nice small sheds that could be placed in our back yards out of sight. I have been told that the regulations were intended to keep our community looking good but again there are some very good looking sheds for sale. Perhaps we could come up with a plan that could work for everyone.
Hello Gary. Thank you for your comment on the storage shed regulations. Currently, storage sheds and buildings are prohibited (more details can be found in section 6 of your CC&R’s) but if you would like to speak with someone in greater detail about the matter, feel free to contact the Sun City West CC&R Department at 623-544-6661.
The possible rezoning of church property on Meeker. Will those apts be part of our community and thus part of our restrictions and all by laws?
