As a community service, the Recreation Centers of Sun City West is presenting the following information from PORA:

PORA 2.0 is officially back home, and your Board of Directors has hit the ground running. With the organization now firmly situated, the focus has shifted to strengthening the foundation for a more transparent, efficient, and member-driven future.

The board is actively evaluating key areas including the condition of the building, financial systems, billing practices, and gallery policies—ensuring everything aligns with best practices and community expectations.

Here’s what’s already been accomplished:

  • Positive Facility Report: Last week, the board received a visual walk-through report on the PORA building, roof and HVAC (AC) units, overall confirming these critical systems are in satisfactory condition.
  • Financial Transparency Improvements: Work is underway to enhance financial record-keeping processes, with the objective of establishing transparency, consistency, and accountability.
  • Membership & Sponsorship Review: The board is currently value-mapping membership and sponsorship processes to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and a better overall experience.
  • Strengthened Community Alignment: The executive board has reestablished a working relationship with the governing board and the RCSCW General Manager, with a renewed spirit of collaboration and open communication.

Now, we need you

We invite all area residents to stop by the PORA office, meet the team, and be part of this exciting next chapter. Your involvement truly drives what we can accomplish together—through donations, membership, volunteering, sharing ideas, and community engagement.

For those who are in a position to do more, we strongly encourage you to consider sponsoring a donation to help accelerate this revitalization effort. Financial support directly enables PORA to expand outreach, strengthen advocacy, and deliver meaningful results for Sun City West and area residents.
