Sun City West resident Joanne Kimball (shown seated at center with Recreation Centers of Sun City West staff and volunteers) successfully submitted a grant application to Thrivent Financial to provide the R.H. Johnson Library Virtual Reality program with equipment and experiences.
The R.H. Johnson Library thanks Sun City West resident Joanne Kimball for successfully securing a Thrivent Financial Grant. The library was awarded $250 with which to purchase both equipment and new experiences for the Virtual Reality program. Mrs. Kimball wrote in her grant application that she would “work with the IT Department of the Recreation Centers of Sun City West and library staff to select experiences that would appeal to a broad range of residents.” Thrivent Financial is a not-for-profit fraternal benefit society. Mrs. Kimball told Library Director Jane Kauzlaric, “Money that would pay certain taxes goes to strengthen communities, congregations and causes that Thrivent members care about. The Thrivent Action Team helps to strengthen the places we live in.”
The award-winning Virtual Reality program at the R.H. Johnson Library is now offered on additional days each month and accepts guests of Rec Card holders who are 18 years of age or older. Reservations can be made in person in the Library’s Data Resource Center or by calling 623-544-6644.
