The Recreation Centers of Sun City West’s Master Plan Update will be presented to the community during the Governing Board’s March Workshop, which begins 9 a.m. Friday, March 11, in Palm Ridge’s Summit Hall, 13800 W. Deer Valley Drive.
The Update includes results of the Master Plan Community Survey conducted by Epic Strategies; review of member input from roundtables conducted by Michelle Mace of M3B; as well as information about long-term financial impacts from the Arizona Department of Water Resources’ 5th Management Plan and its turf reduction requirements for the seven golf courses.
M3B’s Mace and General Manager Bill Schwind will be on hand to present the findings and answer questions.
Aside from the irrigation projects required by the water conservation requirements, no new specific capital projects are earmarked in the Master Plan. However, the surveys and resident input, as well as generational and trend research, provide insight into areas the Association can direct capital and programming funds in the near future to meet the needs of the changing demographics and interests in the community. No plans have been developed in this area as the Master Plan is still in the first phase.
I don’t believe the idea of food trucks make any real sense. Based on the pricing of the food trucks for the Pickleball tournament, the pricing was extremely high and would not be supported by the residents on a regular basis. I was toldThat the church attendance has dwindled extensively. And there may be a church or two that will have to close its doors because they’re not supported enough to keep it open. That could be an ideal opportunity for the church on the green to get into a true church setting as it was designed initially. If that were to happen, church on the green property could become available for a restaurant. And that is what that building was set up for in the first place when Del Webb was developing Sun City West.
I don’t believe the idea of food trucks would be beneficial or used enough to justify them as a food source. I state my opinion on the fact that I visited all the food trucks during the Pickleball tournaments. The food was very very pricey and this community would not support them.
I have been told by various sources that the large amount of churches in our community will not be able to maintain operation because the generation of parishioners tithing is no longer strong. And that without the Financial support that they need, they’re not going to be able to keep their doors open. This would be an opportunity for the church on the green to acquire one of the unused churches. They could then sell their building to the rec center directly to lease out to a restaurant operation. This has more potential than asking a person or corporation to purchase the building. Leasing would be a continual source of money to the rec center. As most people know, that building was an original beautiful, well run restaurant while Del Webb was developing Sun City West.
Given the length of the video would it be possible to have a tabulated summary of the discussion? So having time markers of “10:00 – discuss topic X” and “25:00 – discuss topic Y” – that way, those residents who were unable to attend the meeting would not need to watch the entire video in order to get a better understanding of the discussion and conversation.
Thanks in advance –
