2,250 numbered pickleballs will drop from the sky and over $4,000 in prizes will be awarded on Saturday, January 25th, when the Sun City West Pickleball Club, in partnership with PORA, stage the sixth annual Day for Charity to benefit seven local groups: SCW Foundation-Helping Hands, PRIDES, SCW Posse, PORA, The Community Fund SCW, AZ Fire & Medical Authority Charities and Northwest Valley Connect.
The public can join in the fun and win cash prizes by purchasing numbered pickleballs, which will be dropped onto a target on Liberty Courts at the Palm Ridge Pickleball Center, located. This year, there will be 33 guaranteed winners, with up to $4,050 in prizes to be awarded. First place is a prize of $1,000. Firefighters from North County Fire & Medical District will release the balls from high atop their big ladder truck; prizes donated by sponsoring merchants and cash awards will be won when balls land in the target areas in the drop zone.
To date, the 1,500 plus members of the SCW Pickleball Club have raised more than $87,000 for local SCW non-profit organizations, and the objective is to raise an additional $25,000+ through this year’s big event.
This year each participating non-profit will be guaranteed a minimum of $1,000’s contributed to their organization from the day’s event, plus they can earn more of the total money raised for their respective organization through their efforts to help sell ball drop entries. Ken Holtz, the Day for Charity event leader is also excited to announce that Saini Smiles Dentistry has stepped forward to contribute an additional $500 for each of the seven non-profit organizations, for a total contribution of $3,500. Mike Saini, office manager for Saini Smiles Dentistry said, “we are proud to support the community in which we provide services and feel the Day for Charity event is a perfect way to help out.”

Are you going to publish the winning numbers from the Pickle Ball Drop?
I seldom complain about anything as the Bible says, in as much as it be within your will, be at peace with everyone. BUT, I tried to play pickleball this morning when a lady brought two very large dogs and sat on the bench (of which there are few) and with the dogs they took up the whole space and caused commotion which disturbed our play. Since we pickleball players are only allowed to bring bags and water why should these DOGS be allowed to be brought, cause a commotion, block the aisle, and keep people from sitting down between games. There is a dog park across the parking lot. Not everyone loves dogs and some are allergic. Please do something about this rude behavior.
How do I know if I won anything from the March 7th Pickleball drop? Will the winners be published somewhere? Where?
Hi Marilyn. The SCW Pickleball Club posted the results of the 2022 pickleball drop on their website: https://scwpickleballclub.com/winner-for-2022-ball-drop/
