The October issue of the Rec Center News will have a new look when it hits driveways – and online browsers – at the end of September.
The Rec Center News is migrating to a magazine, ushering in a new era for the Rec Centers’ official printed publication just in time for the fall/winter season. Even more exciting, the Association will be launching an interactive digital version of the magazine at the same time.
The Rec Center News, or “RCN,” is the community’s No. 1 source for Association news, and that trend will continue with the magazine as new features are introduced:
- Each issue will feature a cover story highlighting the most important story of the month.
- A “Need to Know” section offers quick-hit news bites.
- Magazine-style promotional announcements for upcoming events will be featured throughout.
- All upcoming Association events, including events happening in Golf, Sports Pavilion, Library, Recreation, Stardust Theatre and the Governing Board, will be readily available in our new “At a Glance” section.
- Each month will offer a feature story on a Club of the Month. Find out interesting tidbits about a specific club and what makes it tick.
The printed RCN will be delivered to residents just as before – as an insert in the Independent the last Wednesday of every month. On the last Tuesday of each month, residents will find the online version at suncitywest.com. This digital, easy-to-handle, mobile-friendly flipbook will allow readers to click on embedded links for further information. Embedded videos and other enhanced media will be added as well.
Members will find the printed and electronic versions of the RCN will be their go-to guide for the month, while the weekly Enews will remain the leading source for more time-sensitive information.

Looking forward to,it !
Received the new look for Rec Center News? Where is the club news? Are you expecting everyone to look at every single club’s individual website to see what is going on. At least monthly we could glance at events that a club was having to see what was open to non-members. Now you have taken that away. So this is progress?
Excellent format. Great work to those that made it.
