Heard the Pavilion was going to close on Sundays this summer. Maybe shorter summer hours rather than a days closure might benefit are full time community during the hotter months
SCW amenities are why we moved here. Amenities should be open year around!
I totally agree with Richard Becker. Amenities should be available to us Residents YEAR Round!
Why are the clubs now being required to rent a room when they have events that exceed the capacity limit that would be in their club room? It is my understanding that all residents pay yearly dues for use of the rec club? You will force those clubs to now charge more for their events when most of us are on a limited income. Absolutely ridiculous that the clubs are no longer allowed to schedule events in the rooms for no fee when they aren’t being used, especially when we all pay dues for use of the rec centers! Pure Greed!
Hi Sherri. Thank you for your comment and concerns. We’ve passed them along to the Recreation Manager, who will be reaching out to help explain and answer your questions about room rentals.
It’s outrageous the Sports Pavillion is closed on Sundays now. (Especially since you are raising our Dues) We love to bowl and play pool on Sundays. This is a HORRIBLE decision. And it really ticks me off!
My name is Joe Klein, I am a Sun City West resident, a member of the Rec Centers, and I gladly pay my dues for the privilege of using our fantastic facilities. However, I am outraged, that despite of this, I and other members are banned from using our bowling facilities on Sundays, yet outsiders are allowed to league play all day!
My wife and our friends usually bowl Saturday and Sunday mornings. Now we are no longer allowed to bowl on Sundays, we cannot use the billiard facility, the games in the Lizard Lounge, and the opportunity to interact with other SCW residents.
Our wonderful facility is closed to paying members, but open to outsiders. Why is this? If outside leagues are allowed to play, do they need to use all the lanes? It is rumored the manager’s son is the one who organized this. I have been told that we cannot get people to work on Sundays, and we cannot afford to keep the bowling lanes up and running on Sundays. If any of this is true, how can we afford to fill the lanes and the facility with outside people? The registration desk still needs to be staffed, the facility still needs to be cleaned and maintained, the lanes still need to be waxed and cared for, Maintenace personnel need to be present to fix the lanes etc., we are still paying for utilities, and the list goes on.
I know many other SCW bowlers are upset over this. It makes no sense to me. What is the rationale behind this?
Respectfully,
Joe Klein
