All I wanted to know was when the Beardley pool will be opening. I could not find anything about any of the pools on this site. Not very user friendly for me.
I agree that this website it’s not user-friendly. Information is scattered about In these webpages, Facebook, Twitter, and the Sun City West radio station. But I did read somewhere that only the Johnson and Palm Ridge outdoor pools are open only and they do not have enough disinfectant cleaning supplies to open other facilities.
I wish they would pick one medium to disseminate information and not use a hodgepodge of rec center news, Board PowerPoint presentations, radio station interviews, Twitter feeds, and Facebook postings.
There used to be a weekly general managers report posted but the last one was in March.
At this time no projection on when Beardsley pool will be open.
I hope this will actually get posted this time around I submitted my comments over a week ago and it was never posted.
I just moved to Sun City West in December. I am very disappointed with how they have handled Covid19. Most of my disappointment is how the general manager responses to the residents. In my opinion he is unprofessional, condescending, threatening and authoritarian. I’ve served on boards in the past and currently serve on a board. I’ve also reported to boards and would not dream of conducting myself in such a disrespectful manner to the people I serve.
Regarding Tl’s remarks about the GM’s handling of Covid-19. After reading just a few words of you criticism of the General Manager, Your remarks are undoubtedly age related.
Regarding the following statement in the press release on reopening of facilities:
Schwind said. “We are reopening because we understand our members are ready for us to reopen. But we can reverse these reopenings at any time. Under no circumstances will we tolerate verbal or physical abuse of our staff.”
There are our policies and procedures to deal with the abuse of staff by members. Closing of facilities to all members is not one of them.
I wish they would add travel back in there. I know I can only do 1 day travel would love more. Opportunities all I see is more then one day travel and. What happened with spirit travel
Question—when will the fitness center & locker rooms @ the RH Johnson Rec. Center open? Why is it so difficult to find info on our recreation facilities? What is opened, what is still closed, what is the plan to open the facilities? Seems to me that info should be shared with the members. When the facicities open then what restrictions will be in place?
Hi Herbert. The Rec Center’s partial reopening plan was announced on May 20 and can be found here: https://suncitywest.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/PR_Partial-Reopening_5_20_20.pdf
When will our pools open up to guests? Have family coming end of June.
What about the Bingo?
I respect my fellow member’s concerns yet I haven’t seen much information addressed to ADA issues. It seems individuals needing dressing rooms, handicapped access etc. certainly have been overlooked and perhaps this may be more of a legal grievance than a personal observation.
