Update: On April 13, the Billiard Room’s operating schedule during this closure was changed to 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day. This page has been updated to reflect the change.

The Recreation Centers of Sun City West will close Johnson Lanes beginning Monday, April 27, as new masking units and pinsetters from Brunswick are installed. The installation is expected to take 10 to 11 weeks to complete.

While the bowling lanes will be shut down, other amenities inside the Sports Pavilion will remain open.

Lizard Acres will be open normal hours throughout the work. Be sure to drop in from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights during April for entertainment. And don’t forget about trivia at 6 p.m. every Tuesday night.

The Pavillion Grill will be open normal hours: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday; 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

The Bowling Center Pro Shop will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Billiard Room will be opened from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day.

The first step in the installation process is to disassemble the pin elevators which sits behind each lane, followed by the pinsetters. Full removal of the old units must occur before installing the new equipment, which is the reason for the full closure of Johnson Lanes.

Brunswick will deliver equipment in shipping containers, which will be in the R.H. Johnson parking lot on the north side of the Sports Pavilion. Containers will be delivered on May 7 and May 28.

The Rec Centers urge Sun City West residents to be cautious around work areas and mindful of barricades.
