The Recreation Centers of Sun City West is excited to play host to the third annual Strike Out PTSD 9 Pin No Tap Bowling Tournament starting at 9 a.m. Sunday, April 12, at Johnson Lanes in the R.H. Johnson Sports Pavilion, 19803 N. R.H. Johnson Blvd.
The public is welcome to attend this special event. The Discovery Channel will be one hand to record the event for “Operation Healing Heroes.”
The tournament will feature two divisions with separate start times. The day kicks off at 9 a.m. with the Mixed Teams Division, followed by the Men’s and Women’s Divisions at 1 p.m.
Cash prizes based on the number of entries will be awarded to bowlers. There also will be chances to win prizes through a 50/50 drawing and raffle prizes.
All proceeds from the tournament will benefit Take a Vet Fishing NFP, and Operation: Healing Heroes Foundation.
As seen on Discovery Channel, Operation Healing Heroes Foundation preserves history by documenting the lives of our U.S. military heroes and their families one story at a time. OHHF provides financial, educational, and emotional support to veterans suffering with post-traumatic stress. Full episodes are available at operationhealingheroes.org.
Since its inception in 2012, Take a Vet Fishing NFP has taken more than 4,000 U.S. military veterans outdoors for a day on the water. More than 400 different fishing guides have donated their time and boats to make our heroes feel welcome. For our veterans struggling with post-traumatic stress, we provide access to additional treatment options at no cost to them.
