Sun City West residents will want to set aside Jan. 15 for two important meetings that will be held in the Palm Ridge Summit Hall.

  • RCSCW Mid-Year Meeting at 9 a.m.
  • MAG US60 (Grand Avenue) – Loop 303 to SR74 Corridor Study presentation from noon to 1 p.m.

The Association’s Mid-Year Meeting begins at 9 a.m., followed at noon by a presentation from the Maricopa Association of Governments on the US 60 (Grand Avenue) – Loop 303 to SR 74 Corridor Study. The Rec Centers is not involved in the MAG study, but as a community service for our members, we have asked MAG to present their information.

The Association will update members on this year’s projects, including those outlined in the Strategic Plan. General Manager Stephen Erno and his management team will present and answer questions as we are halfway through our fiscal year. There will be plenty of time for questions.

From noon to 1 p.m., Project Manager Brad Williams will discuss the MAG study, which is expected to wrap up in early 2026. The study aims to conduct a comprehensive assessment of both current and future travel demands within the study area, and to identify a series of transportation investments that will accommodate future demand along the US 60 corridor through 2050.

The MAG study area spans multiple jurisdictions, including Maricopa County and the cities of Surprise and Peoria. By 2050, the area’s population is projected to reach 242,620 people – 6.5 times the 2020 population.
