Harrah’s ends bus pickup at RHJ

​The Recreation Centers has been notified by Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino that as of Sept. 1, they will no longer be providing bus services, including the pick-up location at RH Johnson Recreation Center.

We have confirmed that Mazatzal Hotel and Casino will be continuing their services once a month. Pickup and drop off location for Mazatzal is at the RHJ Parking Lot.  Their schedule for 2024, with pickup at 6:45 am and drop-off at 4:30 pm: Tuesday, Sept. 3; Tuesday, Oct. 1; Tuesday, Nov. 12; and Tuesday, Dec. 3.     this is sad. one of the reasons I moved to sun city west was all of the buses to casinos and attractions

    With the Desert Diamond having two west side locations in easy driving distance, the buses are obsolete .

      Perhaps busses to Desert Diamond . Lot of folks here aren’t lucky to afford to drive because of age or finances. Obsolete you say?

    What buses are available after Sept 1? Just one casino? How about Desert Diamond

    Really going to miss those bus trips to Harrah’s! Sure we can drive to the casino’s around here, but having someone drive you to the Casino was a blessing!

      Sun City is not your concern unless you wish to move here and pay our rec fees to enjoy casino trips.

        I highly doubt that Sun City West was paying for the bus.

    For those people that can’t drive but really enjoy going to a casino, these busses were great. Any chance they will start up again at some point?

    The buses are not obsolete to people who can not drive outside of our area.Another blow to older residents SCW.

    Maybe if we reach out Desert Diamond will consider resuming service to the Sun Cities. They did have a mini bus for a short time when they had the tent during construction of the casino.

    The country is becoming overrun with gambling. With books taking bets on TV and online, gamblers don’t even have to leave home anymore. That may be starting to hurt the casinos, hence discontinuation of bus service for only one or two people.
