The Green Team program in Sun City West was restructured this past January. Now known as “Green Team 2.0” the program is for Sun City West residents to feel comfortable about their golfing experience. Those participating in the Green Team will start at the 25-yard tees and graduate through the 50 yard, 100 yard and 150-yard tees checkpoints. Once the golfer successfully completes all the checkpoints, they are ready to play from the official tee box.

Members that participate in the Green Team 2.0 Program on a Green Team Saturday, will have their green fees are reduced.

As of  May 14, 2024, 192 members have participated in the Green Team 2.0 Program, with 30 having “graduated” from all the checkpoints and playing from the official tee box.

Throughout the year, the Green Team provides many social events with a shotgun start, food and prizes. This gives members an opportunity to meet one another and celebrate their checkpoint achievements.

If you are a beginner golfer, the Green Team 2.0 program is for you! You will be provided an environment that helps you feel welcomed to the game of golf, be offered FREE or reduced rates for hands-on golf-skill clinics instructed by PGA pros on staff and you will have fun with new friends you meet through the program.

Already have some golf experience? This is still a great program for you to join! You’ll be offered the same experience as a beginner golfer and have the opportunity to improve your golf game.

To provide playing and instructional opportunities at little or no cost for new and existing golfers to learn, grow and play in a fun, safe and comfortable environment

Congrats Graduates!

On May 11 at the Echo Mesa Golf Course, the Green Team had their first graduation. The attached picture shows 5 of the 30 graduates with their graduation props. They each received a bag tag for their golf bag as a graduation gift from the Rec Centers’ Golf Operations team.
