Once again, not one word mentioned about the full replacement of our Johnson Lanes Bowling Pin Setter equipment. Only the Billiards Room and Guest band usage. I attended the Jan. 6, 2025 GM ops meeting and was told the Pin setters would be on the 25/26 budget.
How about actually publishing where the board is at in the entire process? People who bowl there regularly are
VERY interested. But the lack of Any published status, activity, intention, or possibility of replacing all Pin setters is
frustrating to all. We appreciate all the hard word the Mechanics do to keep the lanes running. We are reminded of their work every single time we bowl.
Hello and thank you for your interest in the pinsetters. The pinsetters are part of the FY 2025-26 Capital Budget as a repair and replacement item for the Sports Pavilion. If approved, the pinsetters will be ordered and installed in July 2026 due the timing of the budget approval as well as seasonal timing and manufacture lead times.
The purchase of new pinsetters, along with other capital requests for FY 2025-26, have been covered at several recent meetings, which you can watch online through the Sun City West YouTube channel.
Jan. 10 Governing board workshop
Jan. 23 Governing board regular meeting
Feb. 4 Budget and Finance committee meeting
Feb. 5 Sports Pavilion bowling committee meeting
Feb. 14 Governing board workshop
Not every meeting goes into depth on each individual project, but the overall capital requests are making their way through the regular budgeting process, and the pinsetters are still on the list. The process will culminate in the Board adopting the entire budget for next fiscal year, which should occur at their May meeting.
You can check Board Docs for the agendas for upcoming meetings to see when the capital budget is being discussed.
Lots of construction activity on Echo Mesa golf course. Looks like irrigation but don’t we have irrigation in place already? Maybe a gray water addition?
Hello Austin. We are beginning our irrigation project at Echo Mesa. More information can be found here: https://suncitywest.com/echomesaproject/
