March 3, 2023 Update
Hi everyone. We have reached out to AudienceView on behalf of those residents who have let us know they’ve experienced a problem. We’ve also learned that residents who believe they are part of the breach may contact the company at privacy.audienceview@audienceview.com. If you believe you are part of the breach and have not been contacted, be sure to check your email junk/spam folder in case the company has reached out but the email was redirected to junk. The company is still in the process of investigating and contacting consumers.

Sun City West Members and Guests:
We wanted to follow-up on last week’s announcement about a data breach affecting the company that provides our Box Office Software, AudienceView.
At this time, the Rec Centers is recommending all of our members and visitors who have purchased tickets at the Box Office in the last year take precautions to ensure their credit cards are not compromised. This includes watching for unusual activity, and possibly putting a stop on any credit cards used at the Box Office.
We are making this advisement as a precaution. The investigation by AudienceView is still under way and it is unclear how widespread the breach was. The Rec Centers adopted AudienceView in April 2022.
At this time, we know the threat has affected several of the company’s clients throughout the United States and Canada. We also are getting reports from a handful of our own members that they are seeing unusual activity on their credit cards.
This breach did not affect any of Sun City West’s systems, servers or data. It in no way affected the Membership data, dues payments, golf payments, or the member portal used for making tee times and paying dues. This breach involved the third-party vendor and their systems.
AudienceView will reach out to any consumers it identifies as having been impacted.
Until the investigation concludes, and more is known, the Rec Centers will convert to an interim ticket sales system that does not utilize AudienceView. Tickets for events that already are on sale, as well as those planned to open on Tuesday, Feb. 28, will continue as planned with this interim system.
We appreciate members’ patience as we work through this transition. Expect crowds during Tuesday’s opening day sales for the St. Patty’s Day Dance and the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta. Be sure to bring your rec card.
Thank you,
RCSCW Management
