In light of Gov. Doug Ducey’s Executive Order announced Thursday, March 25, the Recreation Centers of Sun City West will no longer enforce Maricopa County’s mask mandate, effective Friday, March 26.
The Rec Centers continues to recommend residents and employees wear masks and practice social distancing. However, face masks will not be mandated. Plexiglass and sanitizing stations will remain in place.
Ducey’s order lifts all of his previous COVID-related Executive Orders. It also says counties, towns and cities can no longer enforce COVID policies including requirements to wear face coverings, except in the case of governmental buildings and public transportation.
According to the Arizona Department of Health Services COVID dashboard, nearly 72 percent of residents in the Sun City West zip code have been vaccinated. Additionally, vaccines are now available at state-run sites for anyone 16 and older.
Fantabulous
Yeah such great news. So happy!
Too much Too soon. You won’t catch me without a mask even though I’m vaccinated. Will limit a lot of people from
Going to their clubs if they feel unsafe because of folks with no masks.
Thank you. It’s time. We’ve been sheep long enough. Ugh!
We will all be sorry for this decision!
Those who feel safer wearing masks can wear them, those who don’t think they do anything don’t have to. Sounds like responsible adults making decisions for themselves. Thank you, Rec Centers.
Holy cow. Wearing a mask to protect others.
It’s about time..
Thank you for this email.
Everyone should still be careful, if you are not feeling well, stay home, just common sense.

I feel this mandate will be short lived, based on latest increase in 20+ states. I will still wear it in clubs.
confusing…. just read the Rec Center news…. it say ” Maricopa County’s mask mandate will continue to be enforced in all indoor areas..
Hi Vernon. The decision to lift the mask mandate was announced after the Rec Center News had already been sent to print.
I WEAR A MASK TO PROTECT YOU, NOT MYSELF. IT DOESN’T HELP ME. IF YOU HAVEN’T HAD YOUR VACCINES, PLEASE PROTECT OTHERS A LITTLE LONGER.
My wearing a mask protects you, not me. Please protect others for a little while longer as many still have not had vaccines.
Have to remember, just because you’re vaccinated doesn’t mean you can’t get COVID! Just not as serious. Also, you can still infect others even if you’ve been vaccinated. Think about your choices.
All things are difficult before they are easy…. hats off to people who care for others
It’s the ones without a mask who are spreading the virus. Wearing a mask protects OTHER people. Just too soon and the lack of common sense in this community is astounding
You won’t catch me volunteering at the Village Store until we see how this shakes out.
