Catch a movie while relaxing in the cool fall weather this October as Movies in the Park returns to provide Sun City West residents with three nights of entertainment. Movies will be played each of the first three Sundays (Oct. 6, 13 and 20) of October at Beardsley Park once the sun sets. Light concessions will be available at each movie screening starting at 5 p.m.
Poms
Sunday, Oct. 6
Rated PG-13
This uplifting comedy tells the story of a woman who starts a cheerleading squad at a retirement community. Starring Academy Award winner Diane Keaton, Academy Award nominee Jacki Weaver, Pam Grier, Celia Weston, and Rhea Perlman, “Poms” is a “heartfelt and hilarious” story that proves it’s never too late to follow your dreams.
Rocketman
Sunday, Oct. 13
Rated R
Rocketman is an epic musical fantasy about the incredible human story of Elton John’s breakthrough years. The film follows the fantastical journey of transformation from shy piano prodigy Reginald Dwight into international superstar Elton John. This inspirational story – set to Elton John’s most beloved songs and performed by star Taron Egerton – tells the universally relatable story of how a small-town boy became one of the most iconic figures in pop culture. Rocketman also stars Jamie Bell as Elton’s longtime lyricist and writing partner Bernie Taupin, Richard Madden as Elton’s first manager, John Reid, and Bryce Dallas Howard as Elton’s mother Sheila Farebrother.
A Dog’s Journey
Sunday, Oct. 20
Rated PG
Some friendships transcend lifetimes. Picking up where “A Dog’s Purpose” left off, Ethan’s (Dennis Quaid) beloved dog Bailey finds a new destiny: Protect Ethan’s granddaughter CJ (Kathryn Prescott) at any cost. Bailey’s adventure through multiple lives is filled with love, friendship and devotion as he and CJ experience joy and heartbreak, music and laughter, and a few really good belly rubs.
What time do movies in the park begin? All I can see is that concessions start at 5 pm.
Hi Marcy. Movies will begin showing once the sun starts to set, approximately around 7 p.m.
Is there any plans to have movies in March or April rather than just the fall movies
