The Recreation Centers of Sun City West is excited to present “Rock Around the Clock,” a free concert beginning at 5 p.m. Monday, May 29, in the Palm Ridge Summit Hall. Doors open at 4:30 p.m.
Tickets are available starting at 8 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, at the R.H. Johnson Box Office. Only two tickets per rec card.
Enjoy the free concert “Rock Around the Clock,” for a nostalgic journey down memory lane featuring doo-wop and golden oldies from the band Still Cruising. The music will take you back in time with songs, music and fun memories of the ’50s and ’60s.
Still Cruising features three musicians, originally from New York, who are former touring musicians – “hippies” – dedicated to the music, sounds, harmony and great bands of the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s. It’s like listening to your favorite oldies station – complete with a twangy guitar, thumping bass and driving drum beat along with some of the finest vocals in the valley. Guitarist Bob Zappier has been playing and traveling with national touring acts for over 50 years, Stu Thaler on bass adds a thumping bottom that makes you want to dance, and drummer Dave Kingcade will keep your fingers snapping, feet tapping and hands clapping.
