Music Education – 60s Rock: Bob Dylan to The Doors and BeyondCome participate in the library’s music appreciation and education in the library. On Thursday, March 19th at 1:30 p.m. in the main room of the library we will have local musician Cameron will be speaking in the last of a 3-part series on the musical of The 1960’s: Bob Dylan to The Doors and Beyond. He’ll share his insights into the musical styles and influences of the 1960s and the role that the style & artists of the time played in American culture. Following his presentation, Cameron will play some of the music from that era. Cameron has played rock and blues guitar for 30 years, playing in at least 6 bands. He has taught in the public school system as well as giving individual lessons. Cameron has served as both president and vice president of the SCW Music Club, since relocating to SCW. He grew up with the Beatles and Rolling Stones, but now plays in the Albert King, Buddy Guy and Eric Clapton blues styles. He knows most rock, blues, folk and jazz styles with some knowledge of country and classical.It is a free event, but registration is required.
