What’s new in Alzheimer’s diagnosis, treatment, clinical trials?
The Recreation Centers of Sun City West’s continues its partnership with Banner Alzheimer’s Institute and Sun Health Research Institute to bring world-renowned researchers to our community.
Renowned neurologist, Dr. Danielle Goldfarb will discuss recent advances in Alzheimer’s disease diagnosis and treatment. She will highlight new, accurate diagnostic techniques to detect Alzheimer’s brain changes with brain imaging, cerebrospinal fluid, and blood biomarkers, which can identify disease far before any symptoms begin. Finally, Dr. Goldfarb will explore emerging Alzheimer’s treatments including those recently FDA-approved medications, and how these signal a shift toward more effective Alzheimer’s medications.

Dr. Danielle Goldfarb is a double board-certified neurologist and psychiatrist at the Banner Sun Health Research Institute in Sun City. She earned her medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine and completed a combined neurology and psychiatry residency and a neurodegenerative disease research fellowship at Brown University in Providence, RI.
Dr. Goldfarb cares for patients and families at the Banner Cleo Roberts Memory Center. She leads several Alzheimer’s clinical treatment trials along with research and outreach efforts to improve safety and success of cerebrospinal fluid biomarker collection in older adults and to enhance opportunities for Alzheimer’s clinical care, caregiver support and research in diverse communities.
