Friends of the Library Meeting

March 27 @ 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm

Friends of the Library needs your help! Sun City West members: The Friends of the R.H. Johnson Library, which funds all the materials and most of the programming within the Library, needs your help. The Friends donate more than $180,000 worth of materials and programming funds to our library every year, but they are doing it with fewer and fewer volunteers. With an eye toward the future, the Friends are hoping to bolster their volunteer ranks with new ideas and new members. The need is immediate. There will be an informational meeting at 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 27, in the RH Johnson Lecture Hall. All Sun City West members are invited.Volunteers can assist in a variety of ways, and with several scheduling options:Opportunities such as assisting with book sales occur just a few times per year.Book sorting in preparation for the sales occurs every day, and shifts are flexible. The Friends are looking for a few people to handle coordination of volunteer schedules and ensure all positions are filled so the books flow smoothly from the point of donation to the day of sale. The Friends have been supporting the R.H. Johnson Library since its founding in 1979. Their support is one of the reasons the library has remained private – open exclusively to Sun City West members. But they can’t do it without you! This is a great opportunity to meet new people and give back to your community. Plan to attend the meeting to learn more about the current needs, and how you can help the library continue to offer the books, materials and activities that make it such a special place in our community. Bring yourself, your friends and your ideas! If you can’t attend but would like more information, click here.
