What started as an eight-member steel band back in the fall of 1997 has grown into a 15-plus-member ensemble. The group’s repertoire includes Latin, pop songs and an array of island tunes that will create an atmosphere of pure joy regardless of the setting. Over the years, our appeal to audiences of all ages led us to be repeatedly invited to perform at Cricket Pavilion (now known as Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre) to entertain the crowd of party-goers prior to performances by Jimmy Buffett, as well as the annual Rock-N-Roll Marathon in Phoenix. In July of 2017, the Desert Winds Steel Orchestra released its third CD entitled “Sweeter On Steel.”
