Are you ready for the Lizard Acres Grand Reopening!?
The tentative date is Oct. 14, but we are awaiting county permits, so that is subject to change. Keep an eye on this webpage and the Rec Centers’ social media pages for confirmation of the official reopening date along with any additional updates.
Friday, Oct. 10 update: Members, we thank you for your patience. As of Friday, we are still hopeful we will have the county permits for Tuesday’s grand opening. We expect to have a final decision from county on Monday. Stay tuned!
Monday, Oct. 13 update: It’s a go! The Rec Centers are excited to announce that our planned reopening date for Lizard Acres Pub is now official. Join us tomorrow, Oct. 14, from 5 to 10 p.m. and see the newly remodeled pub, participate in some giveaways, visit the merch table and enjoy a fun night with your friends and fellow community members!
We will also have merchandise available for purchase during the grand opening. Take a peek at what will be available through the photos below!

Are the dart boards going to be put back in Lizard Acres?
The dart boards will be moved back into Lizard Acres after the reopening.
Does the Swag include the little bitty lizards? ;o)
Hi Jeanine. The little lizards will be free on opening day while supplies last. Keep an eye out for them during the reopening event as we’ll have them spread out around the tables!
Will the tables be movable? Our experience last year was that several groups would rearrange the tables to reserve for their group. We would come at opening time and there would be no seats available. People would tell us “no, you can’t sit here. We’re saving these seats.” Very disappointing. Why do you allow this? Also, why are outside groups (not residents of our SCW community) allowed to use this facility?
Lizard Acres should be open to SCW members only!
To purchase the merchandise is it cash only or will you take credit cards?
Hi Linda. You can pay with either cash or credit card.
Are there any plans to serve hard liquor at Lizards?
Hi Larry. The current liquor license does not allow for hard liquor, and we do not have plans to change that.
