Build-A-Play Kids Theatre Camp
Set the stage this summer and bring a full theatre production to life from start to finish! The Stardust Theatre, located in Sun City West, invites students between the ages of 9 and 13 to join their theatre camp this summer and learn the different aspects of theatre production alongside other students, culminating in a public performance of your finished production!
Program Details
- June 15 through 19
- 8:30 a.m. to noon, Monday through Thursday
- 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday
- 1 p.m. public performance of your finished production that Friday
- Open to students ages 9 through 13
- Stardust Theatre at the Kuentz Rec Center
- $25 program fee
- Payable by cash or check (make payable to Recreation Centers of Sun City West) at the RHJ Box Office
- Payable online by visiting suncitywest.com/tickets (a surcharge will apply)
- Register by May 31
What to expect
During this week-long camp, participants will work alongside high school age camp counselors, as well as volunteers from the community, to create and rehearse an original play, building creativity, confidence, and teamwork skills in a fun and supportive environment.

The camp will conclude with a live public performance of their play on Friday, June 19 at 1 p.m. inside Stardust Theatre. Tickets for the performance will be available to purchase online at suncitywest.com/tickets for $5 each.
Be a Counsellor this summer
Too old to join the camp but still want to participate in some manner? Stardust Theatre is looking for theatre counsellors to help teach and mentor the students participating. If interested, call 623-544-6093 for details and to sign up.

If you were able to register for this summer’s camp, make sure the $25 program fee is paid and the waiver of liability form is turned in before May 31.

To participate in Stardust Theatre’s Build-A-Play Kids Theatre Camp this summer, parents/guardians must also fill out a waiver of liability form, available to download below. Completed forms can be dropped off at the R.H. Johnson Box Office or emailed to tia.wooley@suncitywest.com.
