This July 4, celebrate America 250 with the Recreation Centers of Sun City West as several events and activities are planned for the big milestone!
From concerts to indoor activities in the library, check out our schedule of events down below.
Celebrate America with All American Jazz
6 p.m. Thursday, July 2; Stardust Theatre
Lindsey Benedict and the Phoenician Blend are visiting Sun City West on July 2 to celebrate America with this fun and jazzy 90 minute show inside the Stardust Theatre.
Tickets are $20 and are helping to support a local organization! After all show expenses have been covered, ticket sales from the show will be donated to American Legion Post #94, which is American Legion’s post for Sun City West.
Nevada Landing
5 p.m. Wednesday, July 1; Palm Ridge Rec Center
Closing out our Sizzling Summer Series, join Nevada Landing on July 1 for this patriotic inspired concert inside the Palm Ridge Recreation Center.
Tickets are $10 and available online and at the R.H. Johnson Box Office.
Red, White & Blue Open
8 a.m. Thursday, July 2; Pebblebrook Golf Course
Find a partner and join us for this two-person team scramble golf tournament on July 2. Show your American spirit by decking out your golf cart and also wearing your favorite patriotic apparel.
Registration is the applicable green fee + $50 for RCSCW members ($100 for non-members) and is due by June 26. Register online or at our Golf Operations office at Pebblebrook Golf Course.
Sun City West 250 Merchandise
Coming soon to the R.H. Johnson Pool Lobby
Commemorate the upcoming America 250 celebration with this special edition Sun City West v-neck t-shirt! Available in both ladies and mens sizes, these shirts will be available for purchase later this June.
Additional specialty items for America 250, like Sun City West red and blue shot glasses, are also coming! Keep an eye on this page, our merchdandise page (suncitywest.com/merch), and our social media pages for an announcement on when these items become available for purchase.

Stopping by the Kuentz and Palm Ridge Rec Centers
We’re bringing merchandise to Palm Ridge and Kuentz! Before the start of select RCSCW events, we’ll have a merchandise table available for members to stop at and make purchases. Cash and credit card are accepted forms of payment.

America the Beautiful Tree
Tell everyone what you love about America
From June 9 through July 3, stop by the library and write down what you find beautiful about America on leaves and then paste them to the library’s patriotic tree.
U.S. Themed Scavenger Hunt
Win America 250 prizes
Beginning June 30, stop by the library’s information desk to participate in their America 250 scavenger hunt. Complete this special event and receive a small prize back at the information desk.
The library’s scavenger hunt runs throughout the entire month of July.
Diamond Painting Craft Class
Make a keychain to celebrate America 250
The library is hosting diamond painting classes where attendees are shown how to make patriotic themed keychains. All supplies are provided by volunteers and donations from The Friends of the R.H. Johnson Library. Registration for these classes is required.
All diamond painting classes are currently full. A waitlist for each class is available to join online if you are still interested in participating.
Patriotic Music Bingo
Test your musical knowledge
Join the library on July 2 and 3 for some patriotic music bingo. Name the songs played, get a bingo and win a fun treat!
