2026 Governing Board Election

In March of 2026, Sun City West Owner Members will be voting in the Governing Board Election to fill vacancies on the Governing Board. Beginning on Nov. 3, Owner Members interested in being a candidate for the election can begin the process by picking up a candidate petition from the R.H. Johnson Administrative Offices.

Important Election Dates

• 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3
  • Candidate petitions available from GB Executive Assistant at Admin Offices at R.H. Johnson Recreation Center
• 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2026
  • Deadline for returning petitions and biographies to GB Executive Assistant
• 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Wednesday, March 4
  • Candidates Forum, Lecture Hall
• 3 p.m. Monday, March 16
  • Deadline to ensure you have a valid email on file in order to vote online. (If not voting online, you can vote in person on Election Day).
• 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 18
  • Candidate Meet and Greet, Palm Ridge.
• 8 a.m. Thursday, March 19
  • Online voting begins
• 3 p.m. Thursday, March 26
  • Online voting ends.
• 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday, March 30
  • Election Day, RH Johnson Data Resource Center

Sign up for online and homebound voting

For the convenience of SCW Owner Members, you can vote online via email – no need to trek to the polling center or if you need to be absent from the community on Election Day. If you haven’t done so in the past, simply sign up prior to 3 p.m. Monday, March 16, by emailing your first and last name, rec card number and preferred email address to vote@suncitywest.com

Homebound Voting is also available to our Owner Members who are homebound and need assistance with voting. Beginning Jan. 2, to request Homebound Voting, call 623-544-6120. All requests must be made between Jan. 2 and 3 p.m. Monday, March 16.

Bylaw changes on March Ballot

Owner members also will have an opportunity to vote on proposed Bylaw changes the Board is recommending to update language about online voting, and ensure the Bylaws are consistent with state law regarding absentee ballots.
The Governing Board also is recommending additional changes that would shorten the election cycle (to begin in January rather than November), in order to simplify the process and encourage more participation. At their Jan. 22 meeting, the Board will vote on whether to include those on March’s ballot. Information will be posted online as soon as it becomes available. Any resulting changes to the election cycle would not take place until the 2027 election.
