During the summer months, facility staff at the recreation centers take advantage of the slowdown in activities to complete annual maintenance tasks and provide some deep cleaning to our rooms in order to provide a clean environment for when activities start to pick up in the fall.
Below are scheduled closures for this upcoming summer and the areas that will be affected. Please keep these dates and locations in mind when planning activities.
R.H. Johnson Recreation Center
- Racquetball and Table Tennis closure for hardwood floor resurfacing
- July 8 through 24, reopens on July 25
- From July 8 through 11, the activities building, which includes Zymurgy, the monitor station and rentals for mini-golf and Bocce will be closed due to the strong odors that come from the hardwood floor resurfacing. These areas and services will reopen on July 12.
- Social Hall closure for hardwood floor resurfacing
- July 6 through 24, reopens July 25
Palm Ridge Recreation Center
- Summit Hall closure for hardwood floor resurfacing
- July 20 through Aug. 7, reopens Aug. 8
- From July 20 through 29, club rooms in the activities building will be closed due to the strong odors. Club activity resumes on July 30.
