The Recreation Centers of Sun City West are kicking off the year in style with a handful of show stopping Cabaret performances at the Palm Ridge Rec Center.

Each act will offer two performances at 3 and 7 p.m. Doors open at 2:30 and 6:30 p.m. for each show. The series is open to Sun City West residents only.

Cabaret packages are $60 and on sale from Tuesday, Nov. 12 through Monday, Nov. 25. Individual tickets are $22 and go on sale Tuesday, Nov. 26. All sales are through the R.H. Johnson Box Office and online at suncitywest.com. For information, call 623-544-6093.

The Aragon Ping Band is a six-member group that presents a variety of music to suit every taste. All band mates started their musical journeys at early ages and formed the band in its present configuration in 2022. Their musical roots include country, classic rock, early rock ‘n’ roll and bluegrass. With musical roots from Kentucky, California, Colorado, Kansas, Washington, and Arizona, the members bring a colorful and rich tapestry to their performances.

The band features the great vocals of Robert Aragon backed by Doug Ping on lead guitar and backup vocals; Rick Schmidt on pedal steel guitar, midi-guitar and backup vocals; Scott Smith on keyboards and backup vocals; Layne London on bass guitar and backup vocals, and George Erickson on drums.

The band will present a Salute to Waylon Jennings, as previously performed at sold out shows last year, and share stories and surprising facts about his star-studded career and his impact on today’s country music.

Cory was a grand finalist on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” and a semifinalist on “America’s Got Talent.” She has had comedy specials on Comedy Central and HBO.
As a public speaker, Cory presented a Tedx called “The Joke that Saved my Life” chronicling her journey from domestic abuse to a comedy career.
She has been voted best comedian in New York City by Backstage Magazine and best female comedian by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets. Cory has also been featured numerous times at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, the Johnny Carson Festival, The Halifax Comedy Festival and every year at the Nantucket Comedy Festival.

Americana is a show that features four fantastic vocalists performing timeless songs from American singers and songwriters, like Simon & Garfunkel, The Mamas & Papas, James Taylor, Fleetwood Mac, Carly Simon, Janis Joplin, Jim Croce, Linda Ronstandt, The Eagles, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Seals and Crofts, Creedence Clearwater Revival  plus many more.

This is a show that celebrates an era of lasting classics with uplifting four- and five-part vocal harmonies performed with high energy.
